What is Outpatient Addiction Treatment?

Outpatient addiction treatment allows individuals to receive continued care and accountability while living at home or in a supportive housing environment.

Unlike residential programs, outpatient care provides flexibility while maintaining a consistent connection to recovery-focused services.

At James Club Recovery, our outpatient program serves as a vital bridge between higher levels of care and fully independent living. It is designed for individuals who have completed residential treatment or those who need structured recovery engagement while balancing work, school, and family responsibilities.

Through a combination of one-on-one mentoring, group sessions, twelve-step immersion, and practical skill-building, clients are able to strengthen their foundation in sobriety while applying recovery principles in real time.

Our Outpatient Rehab Programs

We offer several levels of outpatient care in order to meet each client at their specific stage in recovery.

These programs vary in intensity and time commitment, but are each individualized to meet a person’s exact needs, circumstances, and goals. Our compassionate staff works closely with clients to ensure they are matched with the most appropriate level of care and, therefore, receive the treatment services necessary to sustain sobriety on a long-term scale.

While at our Florida-based facility, individuals can expect to participate in one or more of the below programs:

Partial Hospitilization Program (PHP)

Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) is the most intensive level of treatment we offer.

While enrolled in this program, clients attend a full day of treatment, five days a week. This allows them vital structure as they navigate the beginning phases of recovery. Participants can expect to engage in extensive therapy, holistic healing strategies, group settings, and mentorship services.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our intensive outpatient program (IOP) is a middle step between residential treatment or a PHP and traditional outpatient services.

Clients can expect to attend sessions three to five days a week for a few hours at a time. This continues providing individuals with a necessary routine, while incorporating some amount of freedom into their schedules. During an IOP, clients reinforce coping mechanisms, practice life skills, connect with peers, and work through identifying and navigating real-life triggers and challenges.

Traditional Outpatient Program (OP)

Outpatient services are designed to support clients as they fully assimilate back into the outside world.

The goal is to make them feel secure, stable, and confident as they work through daily struggles and stresses. Typically, an OP consists of weekly therapy sessions and group meetings that encourage continued healing and lasting relapse prevention.

What is the Difference Between Inpatient and Outpatient Treatment?

When an individual is in inpatient rehab, also known as residential treatment, they live on-site and receive 24/7 care and supervision.

This allows them to recover away from outside triggers and stressors. However, they are unable to return home or to supportive housing in the evenings. This also means they do not have the ability to maintain personal and professional responsibilities. This type of treatment is best suited for those who are early in their recovery journey or who are especially vulnerable to relapse.

Outpatient treatment refers to when clients go to a facility for therapeutic sessions, but do not spend the night there.

Instead, they are able to go home, given their home environment is stable, or to a sober living house when treatment is over. There are different types of outpatient treatment, designed for those at different stages of recovery. It is common for individuals to transition through these levels of care as they establish a stronger foundation for drug and alcohol abstinence.

What to Expect During Outpatient Addiction Treatment in Fort Lauderdale?

Following an initial assessment and insurance verification, our outpatient rehab in Fort Lauderdale begins with a thorough evaluation.

This allows our treatment team to discuss each person’s needs and goals, so that they can craft the unique treatment plan that will be most conducive to their recovery. From there, clients begin participating in a blend of scientifically backed modalities and holistic methods.

These may include a combination of the following:

How Long Does Outpatient Treatment Last?

The exact duration of outpatient treatment depends on a variety of factors, including the type of outpatient program an individual is participating in.

For most, our outpatient programs last between 30 to 90 days. This timeline is also influenced by a person’s history of addiction, the presence of any co-occurring mental health conditions, and their specific needs and lifestyle.

Additionally, a person’s recovery progress and goals may extend or shorten the amount of time they spend in treatment. Our caring team works diligently with each client to track their advances and setbacks and make the necessary recommendations and adjustments to their treatment plan.
